Lehigh Mines
This 1905 map shows the location of Lehigh in south Blount County, on a spur line from the L&N Mineral Line's Huntsville Branch that eventually connected Birmingham to Gadsden. This area was subject to early development activity -- by the time Lehigh mines were opened, there were numerous mines along the L&N main line north from Birmingham to Warrior.
