Further down the mountain, we wanted to see if there was any evidence remaining to show how the tramway crossed the South & North Alabama RR line.  Based on the maps, the tramway had to cross the S&NA to get to Oxmoor.  We were not disappointed.  This site is believed to be the point at which a bridge carried the tramway over the S&NA.  The dark object on the right is an old tire and is at the level on the embankment where it appears a bridge started to cross the RR line.  The rail line is behind the camera in this picture.
